Solar enquiries are easy to get and hard to convert: many come from tenants or people curious about the subsidy, and every site survey costs a technician's day. For a rooftop solar installer we built a system that filters before anyone visits. Within the first day of going live, the first leads arrived and were answered on WhatsApp by the AI.
At a glance
| Client | A rooftop solar installer in India |
|---|---|
| Goal | Home owners and businesses ready for a site survey |
| Channels | Meta lead forms, WhatsApp AI, CRM; Google search next |
| Started | 1 November 2026 |
| So far | First 3 leads in, all answered on WhatsApp, 1 qualified on day one |
The challenge
The installer's team was spending days on surveys for people who did not own the roof or could not afford the system. They needed fewer, better visits.
What we did
- Ads to owners, not everyone. Home owners and business owners in the districts the installer serves, with the message built around the bill saving and the government subsidy.
- A form that filters. Monthly electricity bill, roof type, and owner or tenant.
- WhatsApp AI that does the paperwork talk. It explains the subsidy steps, asks for a photo of the latest bill and offers a survey slot.
- Paused first, approved by the owner. The campaign was built in the installer's own ad account and switched on only after approval.
Where it stands (2 November 2026)
The first leads came in on the first day and were answered within minutes. One was qualified straight away. The ad account had a billing problem to clear before spend could scale; we told the owner the exact step the same day. We will add a full month's numbers here.
How we work for solar installers
- Ask the bill and the roof before you drive anywhere.
- Use real photos of your own installations.
- Follow up the not-yet leads when the subsidy or season changes, not daily.
Questions owners ask us
What is a good cost per solar lead?
Judge it on surveys booked and systems sold. A cheap lead from a tenant is worth nothing; a pricier lead from an owner with a ₹4,000 bill is worth a lot.
How we report: this case study describes work in progress as of 2 November 2026. We will add the numbers once the campaigns have run for a full month. We do not name clients without their permission.
Want the same for your business? Leave your WhatsApp number and we will show you, for your industry and city, which ads to run, what the AI says to your enquiries and what a realistic first month looks like.
